INTERPRETER AT THE NOTARY’S OFFICE SERVICE

“Why do I need an interpreter at the notary’s office?” is the most common question asked about this service, because visiting such an expert  is not associated with any particular difficulty for the majority of people, but the picture changes dramatically when it becomes the same for a foreigner. In this case, the services of a professional interpreter are a must, since an accompanying expert must possess certain skills, experience, and basic knowledge of legal terminology.

Interpreter’s services at the notary’s office are a special type of linguistic support having a number of features and characterized by strict regulations. The expert doing the same should, first of all, have a university degree in the relevant major, indicating a specific language, since only an expert with the proven degree is entitled to certify the translation with his/her signature.

When you need an interpreter at the notary’s office from the «OpenSpace» Translation Agency:

The personal presence of a translator at the notary’s office when preparing such documents is mandatory, because even if the legal representative has in-depth knowledge of a foreign language, s/he usually does not have a translator’s university degree and, therefore, cannot certify the translation.

The interpreter can stay at the notary’s office for a different amount of time; sometimes 20 minutes are enough, and sometimes it may take up to 5 hours (or even more in some cases), so the cost of expert’s work shall be calculated according to the price list, and the payment shall be made for at least two hours. What is the reason for this? The fact is that the interpreter will spend time not only for the work, but also for travel to the meeting place and back. As another option, all the documents can be executed by our full-time notary and our full-time interpreter. In this case, the minimum order for the interpreter’s services will be one hour.

If you need a notarized translation, then you don’t have to order an interpreter’s service separately. You bring documents to our office in person, send them by courier or e-mail.
